As the inaugural model in Dongfeng Nissan's new N series, the N7 targets mainstream Chinese families and aims to redefine the brand's approach to electric mobility.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 15, Dongfeng Nissan marked the opening day of the Auto Guangzhou 2024 with the global debut of its first BEV (battery electric vehicle) model under the new NEV (new energy vehicle) architecture—the N7. As the inaugural model in Dongfeng Nissan's new N series, the N7 targets mainstream Chinese families and aims to redefine the brand's approach to electric mobility.

The N series name draws inspiration from four core themes: NISSAN, NATURE, NEW ENERGY, and NEXT. It embodies the brand's new slogan, "Enjoy More with NI," symbolizing harmony between people, vehicles, and nature. The series also marks a new chapter for Dongfeng Nissan, emphasizing a shift towards smart and electrified driving. The design philosophy of the N series, described as "Minimalist Beauty, Wise Interior," balances aesthetics with advanced functionality, catering to consumers' dual demands for style and practicality.

In terms of exterior styling, the N7 inherits Nissan's iconic V-Motion design language, accentuated by a dynamic lighting setup. The V-shaped headlight cluster extends seamlessly into the vehicle's body lines, creating a sense of motion and fluidity.

The side profile of the N7 showcases a striking silhouette based on the 0.618 "golden ratio," coupled with a three-fold wheelbase ratio for a sleek, balanced look. The seamless, frameless doors feature a hidden beltline and flush door handles, contributing to the vehicle’s low drag coefficient of 0.208Cd. This aerodynamic design highlights both the aesthetic appeal and functional efficiency of the N7.

Lighting is another standout feature of the N7, equipped with 710 high-power LED light units across the vehicle. The rear boasts 882 OLED lighting elements, with interactive lighting animations for both the front and rear, allowing users to customize patterns and text for a personalized touch.

As a mid-to-large all-electric sedan, the N7 measures 4,930 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,487 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,915 mm.

Inside, the N7 is powered by the high-performance Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, paired with 32 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, delivering a powerful, seamless user experience. The advanced hardware enables a fluid and responsive digital cockpit.

As for intelligent driving features, Dongfeng Nissan has partnered with leading tech company Momenta to develop an advanced driver assistance system. The N7 features end-to-end AI-powered Highway Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) function, full-scenario automated parking, and an innovative "City Memory Navigation NOA" function, ensuring comprehensive coverage and a superior driving experience across diverse urban environments in China.

Nissan said it plans to accelerate its electrification and intelligent driving strategies in the future. According to Isao Sekiguchi, Vice President of General Manager of Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company, the automaker will invest over 10 billion yuan in NEV R&D over the next three years and expand its technology center to 4,000 employees. By 2026, Dongfeng Nissan aims to launch five new NEV models, covering a range of powertrain options, including pure BEV, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and range-extended electric vehicles, further solidifying its commitment to the future of sustainable mobility.
