Guangzhou (Gasgoo)- On November 15, BYD's YANGWANG debuted versions of its flagship YANGWANG U7 sedan, offering both PHEV and EV variants, at the Auto Guangzhou 2024.
Pre-sales for the U7 have officially begun, although the automaker did not disclose specific pricing. Interested customers can secure a pre-order with a 20,000-yuan deposit, unlocking exclusive pre-sale benefits. The display models are expected to arrive at dealerships starting in December this year.
Since its brand launch in early 2023, YANGWANG has captured widespread attention with a dramatic debut featuring its vehicles' sideways movement, in-place U-turns, and even jumping capabilities, quickly making waves across the industry.
The YANGWANG U7 is positioned as a flagship luxury new energy sedan in the million-yuan segment, following its predecessors, the YANGWANG U8 and U9.
The U7 boasts several groundbreaking technologies. At its core, the YANGWANG U7 is built on two key proprietary technologies: the e4 Platform and the DiSus-Z system. Supporting these innovations is YANGWANG's self-developed base control software, enabling the sedan to feature a fully digital chassis for the first time. This chassis uses sensor data for real-time input, while the intelligent computing center makes split-second decisions executed by electric motors, allowing three-way six-degree-of-freedom adjustments for precise vehicle control.
In emergency situations, such as a tire blowout, the e4 Platform enables millisecond-level independent torque adjustment across all four wheels, maintaining stability and preventing loss of control.
The DiSus-Z system is a high-speed adaptive suspension tailored for sedans, with an adjustment speed as fast as 5 milliseconds. This sets it apart from YANGWANG U8's DiSus-P suspension, designed for off-road impact resistance, and the DiSus-X on the U9 supercar, which allows the vehicle to perform on-the-spot jumps for track-oriented performance.
With the new addition, YANGWANG's product lineup now includes the off-roader U8, the supercar U9, and the luxury sedan U7. According to BYD's latest monthly sales data, the YANGWANG series has achieved year-to-date sales of 6,841 units by October this year, with the U8 accounting for 6,801 units and the U9 contributing 40 units.
