Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 15, AION, the electric vehicle brand under GAC AION, made a splash at the Auto Guangzhou 2024 with the global debut of its third strategic model, the AION UT (named "Yingwulong" in Chinese Pinyin, which can be translated to "Psittacosaurus").
Positioned in the competitive 100,000-yuan price range, the new model stands out with its impressive size, measuring 4,270 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, with a notable wheelbase of 2,750 mm.
The AION UT features a sleek, rounded design, exuding a sense of modern sophistication. The vehicle's styling was crafted by a Milan-based design studio, embodying AION's latest global design language that marries international elegance with urban chic. The front end is highlighted by uniquely shaped headlights seamlessly integrated with the car's flowing body lines, giving it a distinctive and bold appearance. A variety of color options add vibrancy and appeal, catering to consumers seeking personalized aesthetics.
From the side, the half-hidden door handles enhance the vehicle's futuristic look while also contributing to a smoother profile. The charging port is thoughtfully positioned on the right front fender, signaling its identity as a new energy vehicle. Based on official photos and live displays, the AION UT offers a selection of wheel designs and diverse exterior color options, allowing buyers to customize the car to their preferences.
The interior of the AION UT is equally compelling. It features a 14.6-inch central touchscreen paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, boosting the car's high-tech ambiance and providing ample functionality for information and controls. The model supports multiple smartphone integration options, including HiCar, CarLink, and CarPlay, enabling seamless access to music, navigation, and other convenient services. Additionally, AI voice control allows drivers to operate navigation, seat adjustments, climate control, and defrosting features through simple voice commands, enhancing both convenience and safety.
In terms of space, the AION UT carries rear seats with a width of up to 1,330 mm, comfortably accommodating three adults without feeling cramped. The vehicle also boasts a substantial 440-liter, three-layer storage trunk, capable of holding four 20-inch suitcases or a single 32-inch suitcase, meeting the storage needs of modern consumers.
Under the hood, the AION UT is equipped with a 100 kW electric motor, enabling a top speed of 150 km/h. It features a lithium iron phosphate battery produced by GAC-owned Yinpai Battery Technology.
