Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 12, BYD launched its SEALION 7 model (named "Sealion 07 EV" in China) in Frankfurt, Germany, officially introducing the SUV to the European market.

The BYD SEALION 7 carries forward BYD's "Ocean Aesthetics" design philosophy, blending elegance with a futuristic look. Its raised SUV profile offers a spacious cabin experience. A key highlight of the SEALION 7 is its rear-mounted electric motor, capable of reaching speeds of up to 23,000 rpm. This enables the rear wheels to deliver impressive acceleration with a single-speed transmission. The all-wheel-drive version can achieve 0-100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 215 km/h.

As the seventh fully electric model BYD has launched in Europe, the SEALION 7 is expected to begin deliveries to its first local customers next year. Michael Shu, General Manager of BYD's European Automobile Sales Division, commented, "European consumers have a strong preference for high-performance SUVs. The SEALION, with its rich features and dynamic design, meets the dual demand for practicality and environmental sustainability in the European market."

Since its debut at the Paris Motor Show in October this year, the SEALION 7 has garnered increasing attention across Europe. Over the past two years, BYD has introduced nine models in the region, including the Han, Tang, Yuan PLUS, Seagull, Dolphin, Seal, Song PLUS EV/DM-i (all named in China), and now the SEALION 7, building a diverse product lineup to cater to various consumer needs.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
