Shanghai (Gasgoo)- EHang, a Chinese company focusing on urban air mobility (UAM) technology, announced on November 11 a long-term strategic partnership with Zhuhai Enpower Electric Co., Ltd. ("Enpower"), a prominent player in new energy vehicle power systems. The collaboration aims to jointly develop high-performance electric motors and motor controllers tailored for EHang's series of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

The partnership will focus on creating customized electric drive systems that meet the specific requirements of EHang's diverse eVTOL product lineup, while also adhering to the stringent airworthiness standards set by the Civil Aviation Administration of China ("CAAC"). Enpower's innovative "integrated chip" technology is expected to enhance EHang's motor solutions, enabling a lightweight, high-power, and highly efficient design that can be applied across various eVTOL models. This strategic move is set to boost the performance and reliability of EHang's eVTOL products, addressing the growing demands of the UAM industry.

Jiang Guibin, Chairman of Enpower, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership: "We are delighted to collaborate with EHang. With nearly 20 years of expertise in new energy vehicle power systems, combined with EHang's decade-long leadership in the eVTOL space, we are poised to deliver advanced motor solutions that will drive innovation and industrialization, taking the UAM sector to new heights.”

EHang's Founder, Chairman, and CEO Hu Huazhi commented: "EHang is dedicated to making urban air mobility a reality. Our strategic partnership with Enpower not only validates our vision but also provides a solid boost to achieving our goals. Together, we aim to redefine the future of transportation, making it safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. We look forward to collaborating with more partners across the UAM industry value chain and achieving greater milestones in the future."

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
