Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On November 5, BYD officially launched its all-electric SUV, the YUAN PRO (called “Yuan UP” in China), at a grand event in Mexico City, marking a significant move in its global business expansion.

The launch event featured four interactive experience zones: the BYD App smart experience zone, a karaoke demonstration area, a VTOL (vehicle-to-load) gaming and racing station, and a safety showcase. These areas offered attendees a comprehensive look at the YUAN PRO's technology, entertainment features, safety, and trend-setting design.

Ray Zou, President of BYD Mexico, emphasized the company's commitment to the local market, aiming to bring innovative and impactful vehicles to Mexican consumers while promoting eco-friendly and smart mobility solutions. "The all-electric YUAN PRO, making its grand debut today, is the perfect blend of technology and safety. Its exceptional performance not only enhances driving experiences but also contributes to reducing carbon emissions, supporting the development of green transportation in Mexico," Ray Zou stated.

Equipped with BYD's in-house developed Blade Battery, the SUV boasts advanced energy management. It also integrates e-Platform 3.0 and CTB (Cell-to-Body) technology, enhancing the vehicle's safety, efficiency, and space utilization. The model comes with a 12.8-inch floating central touchscreen, intelligent voice control, and compatibility with the BYD App, offering a smart and connected driving experience. World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
