Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC AION's premium sub-brand, HYPTEC, has released teaser images of its upcoming SUV, the HYPTEC HL. The model, codenamed "AH8," is built on a new platform and is officially positioned as a "luxury intelligent flagship SUV." It is set to make its debut at the Auto Guangzhou 2024 on November 15.

The HYPTEC HL features a distinctive split-style headlamp design, with each side incorporating three vertically arranged light strips. The traditional front grille area is fully enclosed and integrated with multiple illuminated elements, suggesting advanced light-based interaction capabilities.

The SUV boasts a nearly horizontal roofline, designed to maximize interior headroom and cargo capacity. It adopts hidden door handles—a common feature in electric vehicles—and includes cameras on the front fenders. However, it remains unclear if the model will be equipped with LiDAR sensors.

At the rear, the HYPTEC HL sports a full-width taillight design, mirroring the aesthetics of the front lighting system. The central logo also appears to have an illuminated effect, enhancing the vehicle's visibility and futuristic appeal.

Spy photos have revealed a standalone digital instrument cluster and a large floating central touchscreen in the cockpit. The interior is expected to feature a 2+2+2 seating layout. The Hyper HL is likely to be equipped with the ADIGO 6.0 intelligent cockpit, which integrates an AI-powered large model utilizing cloud-edge computing, though final details will be confirmed by the company.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
