[Alcoa: Although Bauxite Shipments from Brazil Delayed, No Impact on Alumina Production Expected] On November 7, Alcoa announced that shipments from its bauxite mine in Juruti, Brazil, were subject to a force majeure due to a transport ship grounding in the waterway, resulting in a delay of nearly 10 days. On Friday, Alcoa informed SMM that although the timing for resuming bauxite shipments has not been confirmed, it is not expected to affect the production levels at its alumina refinery. The company has already coordinated alternative sources of ore supply.
