Open interest reached 277,000 contracts. The main Shanghai copper contract for December 2024 (2412) opened at RMB 76,950 per tonne overnight, immediately touching a low of RMB 76,850 per tonne at the beginning of trading. The contract then saw a gradual lift in its central tendency amidst minor fluctuations throughout the session, touching a high of RMB 77,630 per tonne towards the end of trading, and ultimately closing at RMB 77,590 per tonne, marking a 2.12% increase. Trading volume reached 44,000 contracts, with open interest at 152,000 contracts.
