[SMM News] At the 9th Asia Pacific Stainless Steel Conference, Meidy Katrin, Secretary-General of the Indonesian Nickel Mining Association (APNI), disclosed on November 5 that Indonesia plans to imitate the previous ban on nickel ore exports by implementing a new export ban on 12 mineral resources, including cobalt, coal, copper, bauxite, and silicon, as well as 16 non-mineral commodities. This move aims to promote the downstream development of domestic industries and is expected to attract investments up to USD 618 billion. This policy may have far-reaching impacts on related global markets.
