[SMM Daily Commentary: Lithium Carbonate Prices Rise on November 5]
The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price stood at RMB 74,860 per tonne, up RMB 326 per tonne from the previous working day. The price range for battery-grade lithium carbonate was RMB 74,050-75,850 per tonne, with an average price of RMB 74,950 per tonne, marking an increase of RMB 350 per tonne compared to the previous working day. For industrial-grade lithium carbonate, the price range was RMB 70,300-71,300 per tonne, averaging at RMB 70,800 per tonne, up RMB 350 per tonne from the previous working day. The center of gravity for lithium carbonate spot transaction prices continued to shift upwards. Downstream demand for production scheduling was relatively optimistic, driving up lithium carbonate consumption. Some downstream material factories had rigid demand for purchases or inventory replenishment. Upstream lithium salt factories currently exhibited strong price-supporting sentiments. Considering the current cumulative inventory levels of lithium carbonate, it is expected that lithium carbonate spot prices will show a slight upward trend, accompanied by fluctuations within a certain range.
