Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD's premium brand, DENZA, recently announced its official foray into the Thai market, marking Thailand as its fourth strategic market in the Asia-Pacific region, according to a post on DENZA's WeChat account. This expansion represents a significant step for DENZA in Southeast Asia's largest automotive market.

Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD's Asia-Pacific Automotive Sales Division, highlighted the importance of the move: "This year, BYD has reached several milestones in Thailand, including the inauguration of a manufacturing facility. The introduction of DENZA brand strengthens our commitment to the Thai market. As a regional hub for the automotive industry with a well-established luxury car sector, we are confident DENZA's blend of luxury and sustainable technology will resonate with Thai consumers."

Currently, DENZA has amassed over 250,000-unit orders globally. The brand's debut model in Thailand, the DENZA D9, will be available in the Premium-AWD version in the country. This high-end all-electric MPV, over 5.25 meters in length, boasts an impressive 275kW (approximately 368 hp) maximum power output, 470 Nm of torque, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds. Built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0, the DENZA D9 incorporates advanced Blade Battery technology and the DiSus-C intelligent damping suspension system, achieving a maximum range of up to 580 kilometers (NEDC) — ideal for both urban commuting and long-distance travel.

The DENZA D9 comes in four exterior colors: Snowy White, Whale Blue, Time Gray, and Phantom Black, with interior options in brown and beige.

DENZA also announced the establishment of five flagship showrooms in key regions of Thailand, with plans to expand to ten sales locations by the end of the year.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
