[SMM Daily Commentary: Lithium Carbonate Prices Rise on November 4]
The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price stood at 74,534 yuan/tonne, up 729 yuan/tonne from the previous working day. The price range for battery-grade lithium carbonate was 73,500-75,700 yuan/tonne, with an average price of 74,600 yuan/tonne, representing an increase of 750 yuan/tonne from the previous working day. For industrial-grade lithium carbonate, the price range was 69,950-70,950 yuan/tonne, averaging at 70,450 yuan/tonne, up 750 yuan/tonne compared to the prior working day. The focal point of lithium carbonate spot transaction prices continued to shift upwards. Downstream demand forecasts for production schedules were optimistic, driving up lithium carbonate consumption. Some downstream material factories had rigid demand for purchases or inventory replenishment. Upstream lithium salt plants currently demonstrated a strong willingness to maintain prices. Considering the current cumulative inventory levels of lithium carbonate, it is expected that spot prices of lithium carbonate will show a slight upward trend, accompanied by fluctuations within a certain range.
