Beijing (Gasgoo)- On October 27, Chinese autonomous driving technology company Hyperview inked a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Aramco. Hyperview, backed by four rounds of investment from Aramco Ventures' Prosperity7 fund, is Aramco's sole investment in the Chinese autonomous driving sector.

This collaboration aims to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy solutions, supporting global zero-emissions goals by integrating Hyperview's autonomous and hydrogen power technologies with Aramco's expertise in clean energy. The partnership is divided into short-, mid-, and long-term phases, emphasizing sustainable logistics and smart city development.

In the short term, Hyperview's hydrogen-powered, autonomous trucks will be deployed within Aramco's fleet, initially testing routes between Riyadh and Dammam. Concurrently, the company's autonomous shuttles will operate at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, offering new freight and passenger solutions.

In the mid-term, Aramco will supply low-carbon hydrogen to support Hyperview's global fleet of hydrogen trucks and assist in introducing intelligent, hydrogen-powered buses, aiming to enhance the safety and efficiency of clean transportation within Aramco's transportation network.

Looking ahead, Hyperview and Aramco will work together to develop smart city frameworks and establish hydrogen-powered vehicle assembly facilities in Saudi Arabia, reinforcing both entities' leadership in the energy and technology transformation across the Kingdom.

[SMM Daily Review: Spot Lithium Carbonate Prices Dropped Slightly on March 6] The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price dropped slightly from the previous working day. Futures performance showed that the most-traded contract fluctuated within the range of 151,100-160,900 yuan/mt throughout the day, and open interest increased by about 1,500 lots from the previous trading day. In terms of actual transactions, upstream lithium chemical plants remained weak in their willingness to sell spot orders, with strong sentiment to hold back sales and hold prices firm. Most downstream enterprises took a cautious purchasing stance, mainly staying on the sidelines. A small number of material plants bought the dip when prices were relatively low. Overall, although market inquiries increased, actual transactions remained somewhat sluggish.
