On October 29, ZEEKR, an electric vehicle maker under Geely Holding, announced it has signed a partnership agreement with Egypt International Motors (EIM) to expand into the Egyptian market.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 29, ZEEKR, an electric vehicle maker under Geely Holding, announced it has signed a partnership agreement with Egypt International Motors ("EIM") to expand into the Egyptian market, intending to jointly establish a dedicated sales and service network in the country.

ZEEKR said it is going to introduce its flagship models, the ZEEKR 001 and ZEEKR X, as the first offerings in Egypt, with plans to gradually expand its lineup to cater to a broader range of consumers.

Egypt, Africa's second-largest auto market, has seen increasing demand for China-made electric vehicles, spurred by government initiatives to support the electric vehicle industry. ZEEKR's first Egyptian store is set to open in Cairo by the end of 2024, offering Egyptian customers a comprehensive sales and service experience under one roof.

As of now, ZEEKR has made presence in over 35 key markets worldwide, including Sweden, Australia, Thailand, the UAE, Singapore, and Mexico, covering regions across Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America.

On October 18 this year, ZEEKR announced that it has surpassed cumulative deliveries of 350,000 vehicles. Notably, it took the carmaker only 35 months to hit the delivery milestone.

ZEEKR was founded in April 2021 as a premium smart electric vehicle brand under Geely. On May 10, 2024, it went public on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "ZK," setting a record for the fastest IPO timeline among new energy vehicle companies in China, just 37 months after its founding.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
