SMM, Oct 30: According to customs data, EVA imports in September were 59,600 mt, down 22% MoM and 54.96% YoY. Cumulative imports from January to September were 724,900 mt, down 31.17% YoY. The EVA market is gradually shifting towards Southeast Asia and South Korea. Additionally, the rapid development of components and supporting projects in the US has created new market opportunities for EVA. Meanwhile, demand in India and the Middle East is growing rapidly, with expanding application fields. Due to the rapid expansion of domestic capacity, EVA prices have been continuously declining, and imported EVA is gradually expanding into overseas markets.
In September, by region, imports from South Korea were 31,300 mt (52.48%), from Taiwan 11,000 mt (18.54%), from Thailand 4,100 mt (6.93%), from Saudi Arabia approximately 4,000 mt (6.6%), and from the US 2,000 mt (3.31%).
South Korean EVA suppliers mainly include Hanwha Total, Lotte Chemical, and LG Chem.
Taiwanese EVA suppliers mainly include Formosa Plastics and Taiyo. Thai EVA suppliers mainly include Dow, TPI, and TPC.
