Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese automotive chip supplier SiEngine recently announced a significant advancement in autonomous driving technology with its AD1000 high-performance chip, designed for comprehensive, advanced autonomous driving applications, successfully passed the activation test. Expected to enter mass production by 2025 and begin large-scale deployment in vehicles by 2026, the AD1000 represents SiEngine’s ambition to drive L2-L4 intelligent driving capabilities.

Built on a 7nm automotive-grade process and compliant with AEC-Q100 standards, the AD1000 features a multi-core heterogeneous architecture that enables robust computing power. The chip delivers 250 KDMIPS in CPU processing and up to 512 TOPS in NPU capacity, scaling up to 2,048 TOPS through multi-chip collaboration.

The AD1000 includes high-performance VACC and ISP units and an integrated ASIL-D safety island. It supports Transformer large models and end-to-end intelligent driving frameworks, with a programmable DSP unit allowing customization for operator-defined tasks.

SiEngine’s previous 7nm cockpit chip, the SE1000 has already achieved market success. The SE1000 is currently the only domestically mass-produced 7nm automotive-grade cockpit chip in the market, underscoring SiEngine’s growing role in China's automotive semiconductor sector.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
