Beijing (Gasgoo)- On October 26, Changan Mazda unveiled the MAZDA EZ-6 new energy sedan in China, offering seven variants across BEV (battery-electric vehicle) and REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) powertrains, with prices ranging from 139,800 yuan to 179,800 yuan.

Chairman of Mazda Motor (China) Co., Ltd., Toru Nakajima highlighted that the EZ-6 reflects Mazda’s commitment to reinvigorating growth in China by delivering innovative, tailored products for the Chinese market, known for its leadership in electrification and intelligent technologies. Built with Mazda’s design and driving DNA, combined with Changan Automobile’s advanced electrification expertise, the EZ-6 seeks to redefine value for customers. Aside from the EZ-6, R&D works of Changan Mazda’s second new energy vehicle model designed for the Chinese market is also underway.

The EZ-6 is based on Changan Mazda’s "Yudian Zhixing" architecture (name in Chinese pinyin), providing both BEV and REEV power options. The vehicle's advanced battery features CTP (Cell to Pack) 3C fast-charging technology, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in just 15 minutes to alleviate range concerns.

The third-generation Snapdragon digital cockpit supports advanced features like 3D facial recognition and multi-command, four-zone voice recognition with “Hi MAZDA” smart voice assistant. Equipped with five HD cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars, the EZ-6 is optimized for urban commuting and parking, recognizing over 150 parking space types and confidently handling complex parking scenarios. Additionally, its 50-inch AR-HUD system integrates real-time lane displays, enhancing driver awareness by projecting key driving information directly onto the windshield, providing an immersive and seamless driving experience.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
