Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 19, local time, BYD officially launched its first hybrid pickup truck, the BYD SHARK, in Brazil, not only marking the company's entry into the Brazilian pickup market, but also underscoring its comprehensive influence from urban environments to off-road adventures.

According to the automaker, at the heart of the BYD SHARK is its DMO super hybrid off-road platform. This innovative platform integrates a new hybrid non-load-bearing architecture, the world's first longitudinal EHS powertrain, CTC (cell-to-chassis) technology, front and rear double-wishbone independent suspension, and a rear-wheel-drive powertrain specifically designed for pickups. These advanced technologies ensure the vehicle delivers exceptional off-road capabilities and high safety standards while achieving SUV-like comfort and low energy consumption, providing users with an outstanding driving experience.

BYD added that the BYD SHARK offers a spacious and luxurious ride thanks to its generous measurements. Its exterior design draws inspiration from the agility and power of sharks, breaking the conventional dull image of pickups. The truck features a full-length LED light strip, streamlined body lines, and a continuous rear light design, showcasing a harmonious blend of nature and technology.

Alexandre Baldy, Senior Vice President of BYD Brazil, stated at the launch event, "This year, we have surpassed sales of 60,000 electric vehicles in Brazil, which demonstrates BYD's significant role in promoting sustainable mobility in the country. The launch of the BYD SHARK will create a new niche in the pickup market, bringing unprecedented quality and performance to Brazilian consumers."
