Beijing (Gasgoo)- On October 25, Dongfeng Motor’s new energy vehicle brand eπ kicked off presale for the five-seater version of its eπ008 mid-to-large SUV. Coming with four variants with both range-extended (REEV) and all-electric (BEV) powertrains, the five-seater eπ008 would be priced between 200,000 yuan and 250,000 yuan.

This follows the earlier release of the six-seater version of the eπ008, which starts at 216,600 yuan.

As an additional five-seater model, the eπ008 retains its family design language and mid-to-large SUV dimensions, measuring 5,002mm in length, 1,972mm in width, and 1,732mm in height, with a 3,025mm wheelbase.

The interior offers a two-tone minimalist design with few physical buttons, a flat-bottomed two-spoke steering wheel, full-LCD dashboard, and a large central touchscreen. Generous storage spaces are provided under the center console and in the central armrest area.

Key features include 64-color ambient lighting, a 50W wireless charging pad, streaming rearview mirror, and a 20-speaker sound system. The front seats come with headrest speakers, heating, ventilation, and memory functions. With the five-seat configuration, the cargo space is expected to be expanded.

As for power performance, the five-seat eπ008 REEV features a 1.5T turbocharged engine as a range extender, delivering 108 kW of peak power and 210 Nm of maximum torque, with a 210-km CLTC-rated battery-powered range and 1,300-km combined range. The BEV variant’s motor produces up to 200 kW of power and 340 Nm of torque, providing a 636-km range under CLTC conditions.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
