[SMM Daily Commentary: Lithium Carbonate Prices Fall on October 24] The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index price stood at 73,152 yuan/ton, down 354 yuan/ton from the previous working day. For battery-grade lithium carbonate, prices ranged from 71,650 to 74,950 yuan/ton, with an average price of 73,300 yuan/ton, a decrease of 350 yuan/ton from the previous working day. Industrial-grade lithium carbonate prices ranged from 68,650 to 69,650 yuan/ton, averaging 69,150 yuan/ton, also down 350 yuan/ton from the previous working day. The transaction price center of the lithium carbonate spot market continued to shift downwards. Upstream lithium salt factories still maintained a strong stance on maintaining prices; downstream material factories, however, are currently cautious and holding off on building inventory for November. Although downstream demand in October is expected to remain relatively optimistic, downstream material factories are not strongly inclined to build inventory due to the current lithium carbonate inventory levels. It is expected that lithium carbonate spot prices will continue to trend downwards in the near future.
