Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 22, Geely Auto officially released images of its new mid-size SUV, now named the "Galaxy Starship 7." This latest model, alongside the Galaxy L7, will form the "Galaxy 7 Series Family." The highlight of the new SUV is its use of the new-generation NordThor super hybrid technology, with an official debut expected soon.

In terms of design, the Galaxy Starship 7 carries forward the distinctive styling language of the Galaxy series. The front end, while minimalist, still delivers a sense of depth and sophistication. The standout feature is undoubtedly the full-width LED light bar, seamlessly connected to the side headlamps, creating a strong visual unity with high recognizability. Below, the main headlights are linked to the side air intakes, adding to the car's cohesive look.

The side profile features straight lines, ensuring ample headroom for rear passengers. Silver chrome accents around the windows contribute to a refined, premium feel. Notably, the Galaxy Starship 7 adopts traditional door handles for added practicality, while the multi-spoke wheels enhance the luxury vibe.

The vehicle measures 4,740mm in length, 1,905mm in width, and 1,685mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,755mm.

At the rear, the slim full-width tail light immediately draws attention, with hook-shaped elements on either side enhancing its distinctive appearance. The license plate is centrally positioned, and horizontal design elements add multi-layer sense to the rear.

Inside, the cabin reflects the clean, minimalist aesthetic typical of new energy vehicles. The use of straight lines enhances the sense of spaciousness. Key features include a flat-bottom two-spoke steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster, a large central touchscreen, floating speakers, ambient lighting, and wireless phone charging.

In terms of power, according to earlier filings from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Galaxy Starship 7 will be equipped with Geely's latest NordThor hybrid system, consisting of a 1.5L engine paired with an electric motor. The engine produces a maximum power of 82kW, while the battery has a capacity of 19.09kWh, offering a battery-powered range of 101km.

Hyundai Motor Group to pilot EV battery subscription service for corporate taxis
Hyundai Motor Group will begin testing a subscription model that separates electric vehicle batteries from vehicle ownership. The group said on April 28 that Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Capital will launch a pilot battery subscription service for corporate taxis in the first half of this year. The pilot will target five IONIQ 5 corporate taxis in the Seoul metropolitan area whose battery warranty periods have expired. Under the program, participating vehicles will use batteries through a monthly subscription fee instead of purchasing them outright. When battery replacement is needed, the existing battery will be returned and another battery will be supplied.
