Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 23, Chinese smartphone maker OPPO and leading new energy vehicle manufacturer BYD announced a strategic partnership to jointly advance the integration of smartphones and vehicles.

Their first collaborative product, the "Phone-Car Connectivity" system, will roll out via an OTA update on the DENZA Z9GT vehicle model and OPPO Find X8 smartphone series, enhancing the smart experience for users across both devices.

The "Phone-Car Connectivity" feature extends the DENZA Z9GT's intelligent functionality into users' everyday lives, offering a range of capabilities such as mirroring mode, privacy mode, app continuity, seamless navigation handoff, and voice-controlled vehicle commands. The OPPO Find X8 series supports the instant transfer of addresses from the phone to the DENZA Z9GT, streamlining navigation setup. Additionally, the Find X8 series and DENZA Z9GT introduce the new Fusion Desktop 3.0, enabling the first cross-brand in-car mirroring mode, which allows the car system to flexibly use the full range of applications available on the smartphone.

Both parties plan to conduct in-depth collaboration by integrating smartphones and car systems across multiple driving scenarios. Their joint efforts will focus on developing hardware modules, software systems, and intelligent algorithms for smart cockpit platforms. This includes innovations like AI-powered cockpits, health monitoring systems, digital car keys, vehicle management services, Fusion Desktop, multimedia service sharing, and compute power sharing, all aimed at creating a seamless and intelligent driving experience.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
