Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Great Wall Motor ("GWM") recently reached a new milestone at its Pakistan KD plant with the 10,000th locally-assembled vehicle rolling off line, according to a post on GWM's WeChat account. This achievement highlights GWM's long-term commitment to global expansion and its eco-friendly strategy for overseas markets.

Since the plant began operation in September 2022, GWM has produced two of its global models at the facility the Haval H6 and Haval JOLION. Notably, the Haval H6 HEV became its first locally assembled new energy vehicle (NEV) in Pakistan. During this period, GWM has provided comprehensive technical support and training to ensure the plant's efficient and stable operation.

Yang Weiqi, Vice President of GWM International, stated, "GWM is committed to delivering products that meet local demand across global markets. This year, we introduced three NEV models the Ora Good Cat, Lightning Cat, and Tank 500 HEV attracting widespread attention. Looking ahead, we will expand our range by introducing more NEV options, including PHEVs (plug-in hybrid electric vehicles) and BEVs (battery electric vehicles), to serve global users with a diverse product lineup."

In the first nine months of 2024, GWM achieved cumulative sales of 6,656 vehicles in Pakistan, representing a 245% year-on-year growth. This surge has played a key role in increasing Pakistan's NEV market penetration from less than 1% in 2022 to nearly 11% by 2024.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
