Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 18, BYD officially put the Seal 06 GT, its first GT model designed specifically for young drivers, onto the market, with prices ranging from 136,800 yuan to 186,800 yuan.

The Seal 06 GT features a sleek "ocean aesthetic" design, incorporating key elements from the OCEAN-M concept car. Its distinctive front grille and dynamic body lines create a vibrant, energetic appearance, tailored to appeal to younger buyers.

The model measures 4,630 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,490 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,820 mm.

The interior design embraces a minimalist yet stylish approach, combining the fluid elegance of ocean-inspired aesthetics with a sense of speed. It also includes multi-color ambient lighting and an innovative cup holder light that syncs with the premium Dynaudio sound system, creating an immersive in-car experience.

Riding on BYD's cutting-edge e-Platform 3.0 Evo, the Seal 06 GT features the CTB (cell-to-body) safety architecture, significantly enhancing vehicle safety. According to the carmaker, the model has a rear-wheel-drive powertrain, with frontal crash safety performance improved by 60%. The vehicle's structure is built using TRB integrated hot-stamped front panels and ultra-high-strength 1,500 MPa closed-section beams, which are deeply integrated with BYD's Blade Battery, forming the car's core CTB skeletal safety system. Additionally, the Seal 06 GT comes equipped with the DiPilot intelligent driver-assistance system that offers features such as BSD (blind spot detection) and AEB (automatic emergency braking). It comes standard with 11 airbags and driver monitoring assistance across its entire lineup for improved safety.

In terms of charging efficiency, the Seal 06 GT is built on an 800V high-voltage platform and includes advanced charging technologies, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes, and from 80% to 100% in just 18 minutes. It also features a highly efficient twelve-in-one electric drive system and a 1,200V SiC electric controller for optimized energy consumption and extended driving range.

The Seal 06 GT provides a smooth driving experience with its double ball-joint MacPherson front suspension and five-link independent rear suspension, which enhance both handling and ride comfort. It offers three range options505 km, 605 km, and 550 kmwith rear-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations. The all-wheel-drive version features iTAC (intelligent torque adaption control) system and FSD (frequency selective damping) system, allowing for 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 4.9 seconds.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
