Beijing (Gasgoo)- On October 20, Changan Automobile’s new energy vehicle brand DEEPAL officially put its first compact SUV, the DEEPAL S05, onto the market, offering six trim levels across battery-electric (BEV) and range-extended electric (REEV) powertrain solutions. Its prices range from 119,900 yuan to 149,900 yuan. The vehicle is available for immediate delivery.

The DEEPAL S05 features an evolved “Symbiotic Aesthetics” design, inspired by "stellar wings," resulting in a sleek and dynamic wide-body look. Its striking appearance is enhanced by frameless doors, distinctive "smart wing" headlights, and a "wing of energy" high-mounted brake light, embodying futuristic technology.

One of the standout features is the DEEPAL 4K intelligent gimbal camera, capable of 48MP resolution with electronic stabilization, rivaling professional cameras. For convenience, drivers can capture travel moments without stopping for their phones. Additionally, the DEEPAL S05 debuts the DEEPAL million-pixel interactive headlights, offering a 120-inch projection display and two external speakers to create an outdoor cinema experience.

The intelligent cockpit is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, ensuring smooth and responsive vehicle controls. The DEEPAL S05 also comes equipped with an advanced driver assistance system, featuring an 8MP front camera, 360-degree cameras, millimeter-wave radars, and ultrasonic sensors.

The S05 BEV boasts a CLTC range of up to 510 km and supports 3C fast charging, enabling 30%-80% state of charge in 15 minutes. The S05 REEV offers up to 200-km battery-powered range and a combined range of 1,234 km with a 1.5L engine.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
