[Stimulated South Korean Manufacturers of Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries] South Korean manufacturers, who used to favor ternary batteries, are further increasing their investments in lithium iron phosphate batteries. Hyundai Motor Group recently announced that it would join hands with its partners to implement a project for the development of cathode material production technology for lithium iron phosphate batteries. This project, promoted in collaboration with Hyundai Motor, Kia Motors, Hyundai Steel, and cathode material enterprise EcoProBM, aims to directly synthesize materials and produce cathode materials for lithium iron phosphate batteries without producing precursors. This project has received support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of South Korea.
