MG ES5 all-electric SUV makes global debut

On October 15, SAIC Motor's MG brand officially launched its latest all-electric SUV, the MG ES5.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 15, SAIC Motor's MG brand officially launched its latest all-electric SUV, the MG ES5. The model has underwent a name change from "S5" to "ES5," signaling a repositioning and upgrade for the vehicle, and is set to hit the market in November this year.

The MG ES5 features a dynamic exterior design, blending the signature family-style front fascia with vibrant, youthful elements. The front end is equipped with split headlights and an air intake below the main lights, while the front bumper displays a distinctive split grille. The side profile is marked by a sleek waistline extending from the headlights to the rear, complemented by standard door handles, black side mirrors, and a silver roof rack for a stylish yet practical appearance. At the rear, the SUV features a full-width taillight bar that mirrors the front light design, creating a cohesive look.

The vehicle's dimensions are 4,476 mm in length, 1,849 mm in width, and 1,621 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,730 mm. Inside, it boasts a spacious 4.24 square meters of usable interior space.

In terms of performance, the MG ES5 is powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor, delivering a peak torque of 250 N·m and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 8 seconds. Depending on the battery configuration, the MG ES5 offers three CLTC-rated ranges: 425 km, 515 km, and 525 km.
