[SMM Analysis: What are the Reasons Behind the Recent Expansion of the Cold-Hot Price Gap?] For most of September, the cold-hot price gap fluctuated narrowly within the range of 400-500 yuan/ton. At the end of September, with the continuous release of positive macro news, the cold-hot price gap rapidly expanded to above 500 yuan/ton. From the fundamentals of cold-rolled steel, the overall production increase of steel mills on the supply side was not significant, while the peak season consumption momentum on the demand side was robust, which alleviated the contradiction between supply and demand of cold-rolled steel and enabled the entire month of September to see a healthy destocking of cold-rolled steel. With continuous macro policy stimulus at the end of September, market sentiment rebounded, consumption expectations changed significantly, and with the cold-rolled steel supply and demand in a tight balance, the cold-hot price gap expanded rapidly.
