Beijing (Gasgoo)- On October 15, autonomous driving solution developer WeRide introduced its latest mass-produced Robotaxi, the GXR, which is touted as the most spacious Robotaxi model in the world. The GXR leverages WeRide's 1,800+ days of Robotaxi operational experience and Geely Farizon Auto’s SuperVAN wire-controlled intelligent architecture.

The GXR is equipped with full redundancy systems across its architecture, F-O chassis-by-wire system, computing units, and braking system to ensure operational safety by avoiding single points of failure. Its high-performance HPC 2.0 computing platform delivers over 1,300 TOPS of AI computing power to handle the vehicle’s needs efficiently. The GXR is designed with industry-leading Level-4 autonomous driving capability, enabling it to navigate complex scenarios such as rush hour, mixed traffic, and night-time expressway driving.

The GXR features WeRide's latest Sensor Suite 5.6, consisting of over 20 sensors, including high-performance, low-cost LiDAR, HD cameras, and an RTK high-precision navigation module. These sensors enable 360-degree, blind-spot-free perception and can detect obstacles up to 200 meters ahead, even in challenging environments such as low-light or high-dynamic conditions.

With a total length of 5,018mm, a cabin height of 1,340mm, and a wheelbase of 3,100mm, the GXR offers unparalleled interior space. Its innovative design eliminates the front passenger seat, giving more room to passengers. The second-row legroom exceeds 0.5 meters, while the third-row legroom surpasses 0.4 meters, offering a comfortable seating experience for all passengers.

The GXR also introduces a hidden B-pillar design, allowing the front door and side sliding door to open simultaneously, creating a wide entry space of up to 1,831mm in width and 1,285mm in height. This makes getting on and off the vehicle convenient for passengers. Additionally, the vehicle includes a dedicated space for personal luggage, which can fit at least one backpack and a 22-inch suitcase, making it ideal for travelers who need quick and efficient storage solutions without accessing the trunk.

WeRide places safety as its highest priority, with the GXR designed to offer both operational and passenger safety. The vehicle’s interior is free from sharp edges to ensure a safe environment for all passengers, including children. Each door is equipped with emergency exit labels, and the central armrest contains an emergency stop button and a window-breaking safety hammer for use in critical situations.

Once operational, passengers can easily hail the GXR ride using the WeRide Go App to locate the nearest vehicle and begin their Robotaxi experience, marking another step forward in the future of autonomous mobility.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
