Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On October 12, CATL signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shaanxi Automobile Commercial Vehicle, a subsidiary of Shaanxi Automobile Holding Group, at an event held in Ningde city, Fujian province, where the latter launched its latest product, the Zhiyun Tianxing (translating to Intelligent Cloud Skywalker) edition light-duty truck, according to a post on CATL's WeChat account.

The new Zhiyun Tianxing light-duty truck is equipped with CATL's TIANXING-L batteries, which deliver industry-leading performance in terms of safety, durability, and efficiency, said CATL. Two variants were introduced this time: a fast-charging version and a long-range version. To be specific, the 2C fast-charging version can add 200 km of range in just 18 minutes, addressing the commercial vehicle market's demand for quick charging. Meanwhile, the long-range one, with a 120kWh battery, offers a combined range of over 445 km with standard truckload, providing peace of mind for extended driving distances.

CATL and Shaanxi Automobile Commercial Vehicle have maintained a strong and high-quality partnership since 2019, with all of the latter's new energy vehicle models powered exclusively by CATL batteries. In 2024, the collaboration on light-duty trucks is expected to exceed 6,000 units.

As China's "dual-carbon" strategy continues to evolve, the commercial vehicle sector is undergoing a critical phase of electrification. The duo plans to further their partnership to provide more efficient, intelligent, and cost-effective solutions for urban delivery, express shipping, retail, and other key segments, aiming to accelerate the development of a greener and smarter logistics era.
