According to preliminary estimates by The Aluminum Association, aluminum demand in the United States and Canada is projected to reach 14.056 billion pounds in the first half of 2024, marking a 5.2% increase from 13.365 billion pounds in the first half of 2023. In 2023, the North American aluminum industry experienced weak overall demand, impacted by inventory destocking and a decline in imports. Charles Johnson, President and CEO of The Aluminum Association, stated that aluminum demand will remain robust in 2024. Customers and end-consumers have made it clear that they prefer using sustainable and recyclable materials, and aluminum aligns perfectly with this demand. Our members are investing in the United States to meet current and future market demands.
