[CEO of ASML: Asia will remain the center of chip industry] SMM reported on October 12 that Christophe Fouquet, President and CEO of Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer ASML (ASML.O), said that the growth of chip production in Western countries is unlikely to shift the balance of power in the industry away from Asia. Europe and the United States must address "cost and flexibility" issues in order to have a global impact.
