​Changan Automobile boasts 65.5% YoY surge in YTD auto export by Sept. 2024

Chinese automaker Changan Automobile posted monthly sales volume of 213,180 vehicles in September 2024, indicating a 9.98% year-on-year dip, according to the company’s announcement on October 8.

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese automaker Changan Automobile posted monthly sales volume of 213,180 vehicles in September 2024, indicating a 9.98% year-on-year dip, according to the company’s announcement on October 8.

In the first three quarters of this year, Changan Automobile’s cumulative sales volume amounted to 1,904,979 vehicles, which edged up 1.89% year over year. Among the vehicles sold in the period, 1,584,526 units were under its wholly-owned brands, with 1,160,876 units being passenger cars.

In the Jan.-Sept. period, Changan Automobile's wholly-owned brands exported a total of 287,722 vehicles to overseas markets, representing a staggering 65.5% year-on-year spike.

In September alone, 54,383 new energy vehicles (NEV) under Changan Automobile’s wholly owned brands were sold, resulting in a year-to-date volume of 447,618 units, which surged 46% year over year.

As to Changan Automobile's joint ventures, Changan Ford sold 24,213 vehicles in August 2024, showing a 5.76% decrease year-on-year. Its other joint venture, Changan Mazda, saw its monthly sales tumble down 41.9% from the previous year to 6,010 vehicles.
