Formosa Plastics Smart Announces the Launch of Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Production in Taiwan in November" On October 7, local time, Formosa Plastics Smart announced that the first phase of its subsidiary, Formosa Plastics Advanced Energy's lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cell and module factory, located in Changhua County's Changbin Industrial Zone, has completed construction and will commence production in November. President Liu Huei-chi stated that the company aims to achieve full-capacity production on the first 2.1GWh production line by 2025. It is reported that the total investment in this factory is approximately NT$16 billion (approximately RMB 3.5 billion), with a planned annual production capacity of 5GWh. Upon completion, it will become Taiwan's largest lithium iron phosphate battery factory. The current product lineup includes 50Ah and 67Ah batteries, with the primary target customers being uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), energy storage systems, and electric vehicles.
