On September 27, 2024, Chinese new energy vehicle maker NETA Auto celebrated the grand launch of its all-electric mid-size SUV, the NETA X, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 27, 2024, Chinese new energy vehicle maker NETA Auto celebrated the grand launch of its all-electric mid-size SUV, the NETA X, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The company announced that it will soon begin deliveries to the first 500 customers who placed their orders.

In the days leading up to the launch event, NETA Auto hosted a large-scale test drive activity in Indonesia, attracting over a hundred media representatives and influencers. This introduction follows successful entries in Thailand and Malaysia, solidifying NETA X's presence in Southeast Asia's core market.

Designed for youthful families in Indonesia, the NETA X embodies the concept of "experiencing the electric technology journey", said the automaker. It can be charged from 30% to 80% of its battery capacity in just 30 minutes, boasting a full range of up to 480 kilometers. To cater to local needs, the vehicle is equipped with the CCS2 (Combined Charging System 2) charging interface, the most commonly found in Indonesian charging stations.

The journey of the NETA X in Indonesia commenced at the 2024 GIIAS exhibition, where it garnered over 500 pre-orders. Notably, all NETA X vehicles delivered in Indonesia will be manufactured at NETA's local smart factory. Just two weeks prior to the launch, the factory rolled out its first NETA X, featuring lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries from PT Gotion Green Energy Solutions, achieving a localization rate of 44%. With further collaboration with local partners, this rate is expected to increase.

Following the launch, NETA Auto plans to open several stores in Indonesia, providing consumers more opportunities to experience its innovative products firsthand.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
