Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 26, the all-new IM LS6, a full-sized SUV model under IM Motors, officially hit the market, offering five trim levels with guidance prices ranging from 239,900 yuan to 302,900 yuan. The carmaker also offered several limited-time incentives, resulting in a promotional price range of 216,900 yuan to 279,900 yuan.

Although classified as a minor facelift, the new LS6 showcases significant enhancements, including the innovative Lingxi digital chassis, alongside upgrades in its exterior design and smart driving features.

The new LS6's design modifications include sleeker front headlights and simplified fog light arrangements, while the redesigned front bumper reduces the visual mass of the lower grille. The overall aesthetic remains consistent with the current model, featuring a closed-off front grille and slender air intake below, complemented by a sportier profile thanks to pronounced lines on the hood.

The side profile exudes a coupe-like appearance, with a stylishly elongated rear that adds a lively touch. The dual five-spoke alloy wheels, finished in matte black, paired with vibrant orange brake calipers, enhance the sporty appeal of the vehicle.

At the rear, the all-new IM LS6 sports a prominent "tail wing," a common feature in performance-oriented cars, along with a full-width taillight design that looks sleek when illuminated.

In terms of dimensions, the new LS6 measures 4,910 mm in length, 1,988 mm in width, and 1,669 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,960 mm—slightly larger than its predecessor.

Inside, the cabin maintains IM Motors' signature design language, with its center console dominated by screens that create a high-tech atmosphere. The vehicle is equipped with a massive 26.3-inch display along with a 10.5-inch touchscreen, retaining the stylish half-spoke steering wheel.

A notable upgrade is the introduction of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, along with 24GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Connectivity features include CarLink and HiCar smartphone integration. The all-new LS6 boasts a sound system with 21 speakers, including an external unit for thematic music and pedestrian alerts.

Comfort is further enhanced with an upgraded front passenger seat that adjusts to 121 degrees, while the rear seats offer ten adjustable angles between 19 and 37 degrees. Additional features like a cooling and heating box, 50W wireless fast charging, dual-layer side glass, and active noise cancellation elevate the overall experience.

The all-new LS6 includes a unique "zero-gravity" mode for the front passenger seat and the ability to fold down the rear seats for an expansive cargo area, aptly termed the "big bed mode." With the IM MAG magnetic docking station, nearly 30 expandable storage spaces are available throughout the vehicle. The IM Link system allows for individual control of climate, seating, navigation, and multimedia.

In terms of smart driving technology, the new IM LS6 is equipped with the IM AD 3.0, featuring an end-to-end large model and a nationwide coverage for map-free urban NOA (Navigation on Autopilot) functionality. All variants come with the NVIDIA OrinX chip and LiDAR device, ensuring seamless navigation. Upgraded parking assistance can handle over 300 parking scenarios, and the one-button AI chauffeur feature enables various driving tasks.

The standout upgrade for this model is the Lingxi digital chassis, which supports OTA updates and includes features such as air suspension, electronic dampers, and a high-performance braking system. With four-wheel steering, the all-new IM LS6 can achieve a "crab mode," significantly reducing its turning radius. Safety features include active rollover prevention, stability control, and enhanced off-road capabilities.

Powering the all-new IM LS6 are multiple options: rear-wheel drive versions offering 216 kW, 248 kW, 250 kW, and 300 kW, alongside a powerful 579 kW all-wheel-drive variant, capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.48 seconds. Battery capacities range from 75 kWh to 100 kWh, delivering impressive CLTC ranges of 625 km, 701 km, 750 km (for the all-wheel drive), and 802 km. The vehicle also supports nearly 900V fast charging, enabling it to regain 579 km of range in just 15 minutes.

Study: EVs Outperform Same-Class Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles in Crash Safety
[Study Finds EVs Outperform Comparable Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles in Crash Safety] Despite ongoing consumer concerns about EV battery safety, particularly the risk of fire after collisions, real-world test data from independent organizations such as Euro NCAP, ASEAN NCAP, and NHTSA showed that EVs are progressively establishing new safety standards, with their crash test performance generally surpassing that of comparable internal combustion engine vehicles. This advantage of EVs is not coincidental but stems from design philosophies and technical architectures that are fundamentally different from those of traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

Nissan's New Leaf Motor Cuts Rare Earth Usage by Over 90%
[Nissan to Cut Rare Earth Usage in Leaf EV Motor by 90%] According to Nikkei, Nissan Motor collaborated with parts producers to develop an entirely new motor technology that significantly reduces dependence on rare earth ore. Leveraging this technology, the rare earth material consumption of the new Leaf EV motor was reduced by over 90% compared to the first-generation car model launched in 2010, with a key focus on substantially cutting heavy rare earth usage. EV motors typically incorporate rare earth materials such as dysprosium and terbium to enhance high-temperature resistance.
