Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 26, GAC AION officially launched its latest A+ segment all-electric sedan, the AION RT, in Guangzhou, with the pre-sales kicking off at the same time. The AION RT comes in four variants with two range options—520 km and 650 km—priced between 119,800 yuan and 169,800 yuan.

The exterior of the AION RT introduces a new design concept centered on "Human-Machine Symbiosis Aesthetics." The car features smooth, rounded lines that create a visually pleasing silhouette. Its polygonal front headlights, accented with sleek, upward-pointing light strips, stand out with their smoked finish, resembling lively eyes. Black aerodynamic elements on either side of the sealed front grille enhance both the vehicle’s sporty appeal and its aerodynamic efficiency.

The side profile of the AION RT is dynamic, with two prominent lines running from front to back, giving the car a more sculpted look. The wheels feature a trendy “Starlock” design, adding a touch of modernity and sportiness. The car also adopts hidden door handles, contributing to a luxurious and tech-savvy appearance.

At the rear, the AION RT sports a subtle "swallowtail" design, with an upturned rear spoiler and an inward-tapering lower bumper. This is complemented by split tail lamps and the prominently displayed AION logo, enhancing the vehicle's recognition on the road.

The AION RT measures 4,865mm in length, 1,875mm in width, and 1,520mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,775mm, providing ample interior space. Buyers can choose from seven vibrant exterior colors, including Moonlight Beige, Crystal Purple, Solar Red, Polar White, Holographic Silver, Sea Glow Gray, and Shadow Black.

Inside, the AION RT adopts a minimalist design approach, offering three interior color schemes. It features a digital instrument panel and a floating central control screen. Thanks to a column-mounted shifter, the central console is neatly arranged, with a wireless phone charging pad, cup holders, storage boxes, and a hidden charging design. High-contact areas, such as the armrest and dashboard, are wrapped in soft materials, providing a refined and comfortable tactile experience.

The AION RT is also equipped with a panoramic dual sunroof and dual electric sunshades, allowing for customizable open-air experiences. Additionally, the car comes with an integrated fragrance system, keeping the cabin air fresh for extended periods.

With a trunk capacity of 480 liters, the AION RT can easily accommodate four 24-inch suitcases and one 20-inch suitcase. The rear hatch opens automatically, with an aperture of 470mm, making storage and retrieval more convenient.

One of the AION RT’s standout features is its advanced autonomous driving technology. The car is equipped with a 126-line LiDAR, coupled with the high-performance NVIDIA Orin-X chip, high-thread LiDAR, three millimeter-wave radars, and 11 cameras, enabling high-level intelligent driving capabilities—remarkable for its class.

The AION RT features a 400V + 3C fast-charging system, offering 200km of range with just 10 minutes of charging. According to the carmaker, charging from 30% to 80% of its battery capacity takes only 18 minutes, and the car supports both Chinese and European AC/DC charging standards.

Powered by a CATL-supplied lithium iron phosphate battery and a permanent magnet synchronous motor (model TZ180XYXOF51), the AION RT offers two peak motor outputs—165kW and 150kW—with a top speed of 163 km/h. It delivers an impressive range of up to 650 km, providing both strong performance and energy efficiency.
