Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 24, GAC Trumpchi and Huawei jointly held a fruits sharing event for their collaborative "Innovation Plan," unveiling their first concept car, the 1Concept, to a global audience.

The event also showcased GAC Trumpchi's latest new energy vehicle technology, the GAC Super Range Extender. Additionally, Huawei's advanced technologies, such as the HUAWEI ADS 3.0 system and the HarmonySpace smart cockpit, will be integrated into the collaboration's future models.

GAC Trumpchi first introduced its EV+ plan at the Auto China 2024 in Beijing in April, promising a worry-free solution for users across all stages and scenarios in the new energy vehicle (NEV) era. The joint Innovation Plan with Huawei is built upon this initiative, and the debut of the 1Concept marks a significant milestone in moving the project from concept to reality.

The 1Concept is the first product under the joint Innovation Plan, and in the future, both parties will jointly develop three flagship models, including a sedan, an SUV, and an MPV under the partnership.

In terms of design, the 1Concept adopts a futuristic look with GAC's latest design language, "Hidden Edge in Softness," characterized by smooth lines and minimalist surfaces. The closed-off front fascia and a fully transparent, illuminated 3D logo give the vehicle a strikingly modern and technological appearance.

The concept car measures 5,128 mm in length, over 2,000 mm in width, and has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. The design features short overhangs and a long wheelbase, thanks to its new architecture.

As products of the GAC Trumpchi-Huawei partnership, the 1Concept and future collaborative models will feature Huawei's cutting-edge technologies, including the HUAWEI ADS system and HarmonySpace cockpit. The HUAWEI ADS integrates multiple sensors, including LiDAR, cameras, and millimeter-wave radar, combined with a high-performance computing platform and proprietary human-like algorithms. The HUAWEI ADS 3.0 is the first to commercialize a safety-first "end-to-end network," introducing an instinctive safety network to enhance driving experience and travel efficiency while maintaining a high safety standard.

Meanwhile, the HarmonySpace cockpit offers users a seamless, intuitive, and intelligent interaction experience, supported by a rich ecosystem. The cockpit is designed to be secure, reliable, and continuously evolving with new updates.

As one of the pioneers in hybrid technology in China, GAC Trumpchi has long been at the forefront of innovation in this field. In 2009, it launched the China's first hybrid-specific engine, and in 2014, GAC Trumpchi introduced the country's first mass-produced range-extended vehicle, the GA5 REV.

At this event, GAC Trumpchi unveiled its latest new energy vehicle innovation, the GAC Super Range Extender. According to the carmaker, the GAC Super Range Extender integrates vibration-reduction technology, decreasing range extender start-up vibrations by 34% and shutdown vibrations by 53%, while reducing the frequency of engine start-stop cycles. Paired with an AI intelligent control platform featuring 16.2 million optimized computing nodes, it can recognize 143 different driving scenarios, dynamically optimizing performance with 1-meter precision in traffic and making decisions within 0.01 seconds.

The company added this innovation improves NVH performance by 30%, lowers fuel consumption by 15%, and increases electric range by 12%. It also prevents stalling when battery levels are low, ensuring a quiet, smooth driving experience with a fuel-to-electric conversion efficiency equivalent to 1 liter of fuel providing 3.7 kWh of electricity, delivering a better overall user experience for consumers.
