Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 25, Great Wall Motor's HAVAL brand officially put the second-generation HAVAL H9, the flagship model in its new family-oriented off-road vehicle category, onto the market.

The new vehicle offers three petrol-powered variants, each priced lower by 6,000 yuan compared to pre-sale prices. To be specific, the Jijing ("Extreme") edition is priced at 229,900 yuan, the Tuojing ("Explore") edition at 215,900 yuan, and the Tanjing ("Adventure") edition at 199,900 yuan.

In terms of exterior design, the second-generation HAVAL H9 adopts the latest family style, featuring a bold, boxy appearance. The front end is characterized by a large grille with thick horizontal chrome accents and a prominent "HAVAL" logo, flanked by distinct LED headlights. The sculpted hood lines and wide front bumper further enhance the vehicle's rugged and muscular look.

The new SUV's side profile emphasizes straight lines, with slightly flared wheel arches and multi-spoke rims adding to its off-road aesthetic. Additionally, blacked-out roof rails, window frames, and side skirts give the vehicle a more modern and stylish appearance. At the rear, vertically arranged LED taillights and a rear-mounted spare tire enhance its distinctive look. Notably, the vehicle comes with towing capability, an approach angle of 31°, a departure angle of 26°, and a ground clearance of 224 mm when unloaded.

Inside, the second-generation HAVAL H9 also reflects the brand's latest design language. The cabin features a dual-tone color scheme and extensive use of soft-touch materials on the dashboard and door panels, creating a more refined interior atmosphere. The vehicle comes equipped with a fully digital instrument cluster, a 14.6-inch central touchscreen (with 540-degree camera view), and a multifunctional steering wheel, adding to its tech-savvy appeal. The center console retains physical buttons and knobs for enhanced practicality.

The new HAVAL H9 offers eight pre-configured modification points, including spaces for a detachable grille, front and rear bumpers, fender flares, skid plates, a snorkel, a front winch, a floating roof rack, and a secondary fuel tank. It also boasts a towing capacity of up to 2.5 tonnes.

Built on the off-roader-dedicated TANK platform, the second-generation HAVAL H9 features a body-on-frame design. The variant with an exterior-mounted spare tire measures 5,070mm long, 1,976mm wide, and 1,930mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,850 mm, while the version with a rear storage box measures 4,950mm (5,000mm) long, 1,960mm (1,976mm) wide, and 1,930 mm tall, with the same wheelbase of 2,850 mm.

The new HAVAL H9 is equipped with a range of advanced off-road features, including seven driving modes, TOD intelligent four-wheel drive, Mlock mechanical locks, and electronic differential locks on both the front and rear axles, providing excellent adaptability to various challenging terrains.

Under the hood, the second-generation HAVAL H9 is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, delivering a maximum output of 165 kW. It also includes off-road capabilities such as an all-terrain control system, low-speed four-wheel drive, and a tank turn feature.
