Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 23, Dongfeng Motor’s R&D Institute announced the establishment of the Joint Innovation Center for Intelligent Vehicle Control with Huawei's Qiankun Automotive Control unit.

The collaboration focuses on three main areas: exploring future simplified Ethernet SOA, improving development efficiency for service-oriented integration, and innovating multi-domain software applications in powertrain and chassis systems.

Dongfeng Motor also introduced its new-generation SOA, called the Tianyuan Architecture, designed to provide a robust foundation for AI cockpits, end-to-end intelligent driving, and vehicle-road-cloud integration. Notably, the platform features self-evolution capabilities for embedded intelligent systems.

The Tianyuan Architecture is built on Dongfeng Motor’s in-house developed vehicle control platform, powered by Huawei’s Qiankun automotive control modules. It integrates multiple domains and supports low-latency, high-performance Ethernet communication with dual-layered protection for information and functional safety. It also offers flexible service deployment and expands to include chassis motion control.

As the first outcome of this collaboration, the new-generation Tianyuan Architecture encompasses hardware platform, software service, and real-time cloud integration. It reduces ECU numbers by 20%, provides over 1,000 atomic services, and supports flexible service orchestration. The architecture combines advanced features, usability, and cost-effectiveness and will debut in MHERO and VOYAH brands’ vehicles, with plans to expand across Dongfeng Motor’s entire passenger and commercial vehicle lineup.
