【Indonesia's Mempawh 1 Million Tonne Alumina Refinery Announces Launch】On September 24th, a 1 million tonne per annum (mtpa) metallurgical-grade alumina refinery located in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, announced its launch. The refinery is owned by Indonesia's state-owned mining company Antam and state-owned aluminum producer Inalum. With an annual production capacity of 1 million tonnes, the refinery will consume approximately 3.3 million tonnes of bauxite and is expected to reach full production by February 2025. During the launch ceremony, their parent company MIND ID also announced plans to expand the refinery's production capacity by another 1 million tonnes and to construct an aluminum smelter for further processing of alumina.
