Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 20, 2024, at the Aspara Conference 2024, Banma, Alibaba Group’s smart mobility arm, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Black Sesame Technologies to jointly develop a multi-system baseline for integrated cockpit and driving solution.

The collaboration will also focus on deeper cooperation in smart cockpits and large model applications.

The partnership centers on creating a unified baseline for cross-domain integration on a single chip platform. Banma has already completed the R&D, integration, and tests for the first version of the cockpit-driving integrated multi-system baseline software, using its Banma Hypervisor virtualization solution and Black Sesame’s C1296 chip. This foundation provides cross-domain applications, such as intelligent driving, smart cockpit management, and in-vehicle data exchange.

Looking forward, the two companies aim to deepen their collaboration on smart cockpit technology and AI large model applications. The cross-domain fusion of operating systems and chips is crucial to advancing automotive intelligence. This partnership at the system baseline level will further enhance the integration of operating systems and chips, enriching the ecosystem of "OS + chip + AI" and driving forward the development of the intelligent vehicle industry.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
