Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 22, DENZA, a premium car brand under BYD, announced that its newly launched Z9GT model received over 5,000 fixed orders within just 36 hours of its market release. The Z9GT, which hit the market on September 20, offers seven trim levels across PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) and BEV (battery electric vehicle) variants, including two limited-edition models. Prices range from 334,800 yuan to 414,800 yuan.

The DENZA Z9GT's exterior design has been updated from the previous π-Motion to the new "Elegance in Motion" style. The front fascia features the "Solar Diadem" element paired with a black grille, creating a strong sporty aesthetic.

The side profile of the vehicle is accentuated by a sleek Z-shaped trim, with a long front hood, rear-shifted center of gravity, and an elegant stance that emphasizes its GT appeal. The Z9 GT also comes equipped with frameless doors, soft-closing electric doors, hidden door handles, and a logo-illuminated charging port. A compact streaming rearview mirror is available as an option.

The taillights, which adopt the design dubbed "Time Hourglass," offer a distinctive look when illuminated.

Inside, the DENZA Z9GT continues the luxurious theme with DENZA's latest family design language. The wraparound cockpit is complemented by extensive leather materials, creating a high-end feel. Other features include Devialet lift speakers, dual 50W wireless charging pads, hidden electric air vents, and a 128-color ambient lighting system with multiple themes. A 2.1-square-meter panoramic sunroof and segmented sunshades further enhance the comfort of the cabin.

In terms of intelligent driving, the DENZA Z9GT debuts the BAS 3.0+ superhuman driving assistance system. The system supports map-free high-speed navigation, urban navigation, automatic parking, and valet parking. Future updates will enable seamless toll station navigation, further improving the driving experience.

The Z9GT is built on DENZA's e3 platform and is available in both PHEV and BEV versions. The PHEV-dedicated system includes a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 152 kW and 325 Nm of torque. Paired with three electric motors and a 38.5 kWh LFP battery, the system delivers a combined torque of 935 Nm, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. It offers a battery-powered range of 201 km (CLTC), with fuel consumption rated at 5.6L per 100 km (NEDC) when the battery is depleted.

The BEV version rides on an 800V high-voltage platform and a 100 kWh LFP battery. It boasts a motor with a maximum power of 710 kW and 1,150 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, with a top speed of 240 km/h. The BEV version offers a CLTC-rated range of 630 km and supports high-voltage fast charging. All variants support 6kW V2L (vehicle-to-load) function.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
