Household Air Conditioner Production, Sales Rise in August 2024 Amid High Temperatures and Inventory Management

According to the online monitoring of the industry, in August 2024, the production of household air conditioners reached 11.771 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 3.4%; sales reached 13.06 million units, with a year-on-year increase of 7.3%. Among them, domestic sales were 7.543 million units, down 5.4% year on year; exports were 5.517 million units, up 31.5% year on year. As of the end of August, factory inventory fell 13% year on year. In August, temperatures across the country remained generally high, which to some extent brought a small climax to the air conditioner end market. However, due to the large inventory of enterprises, the main focus was on inventory digestion.
