Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On September 19, GAC Energy Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. ("GAC Energy") signed a framework cooperation agreement with Centara Hotels & Resorts in Bangkok, according to a post on GAC Energy's WeChat account.

The partnership will focus on the construction and operation of supercharging stations at Centara hotels in key cities across Thailand, including Bangkok. The initiative aims to integrate Thailand's tourism and energy networks, offering a multifunctional space that combines business travel, leisure, and new energy vehicle (NEV) exhibitions. It is designed to cater to mig-/high-end and high-net-worth business travelers, providing them with premium product experiences and services.

Both GAC Energy and Centara will leverage their brand strengths to collaborate on joint marketing initiatives. These will include building an energy ecosystem, offering exclusive test drives, and providing VIP rental and purchase programs for electric vehicles (EVs). The companies will explore innovative models around "green energy + green business travel services," supporting Thailand’s push for more sustainable transportation. The first five supercharging stations have already been surveyed and selected for construction, with plans to expand the network nationwide. This partnership aims to improve the charging infrastructure in Thailand, enhance customer experiences in green travel, and drive demand for EV ownership and usage.

GAC Energy, a subsidiary of GAC Group, is actively working to expand its EV charging infrastructure in Thailand. With its advanced ultra-fast charging technology and extensive experience in infrastructure development, the company is driving its "100 Cities, 1,000 Charging Piles" initiative. GAC Energy has already built 11 fast-charging stations in Thailand, with plans to complete 25 public charging stations by the end of this year. By 2028, the company aims to establish 200 supercharging stations with 1,000 charging piles in 100 cities across Thailand.

Centara Hotels & Resorts, a leading luxury hotel chain in Thailand, is part of Central Group, one of the country's largest corporations and Southeast Asia’s biggest department store retailer. Central Group's portfolio spans high-end department stores, supermalls, luxury hotels, and commercial dining and entertainment businesses. It also includes real estate and manufacturing ventures. World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
