AVATR launches right-hand drive AVATR 11 model in Thailand

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 17, AVATR, the premium new energy vehicle brand jointly backed by Changan Automobile, Huawei, and CATL, held a brand launch event in Bangkok, Thailand, introducing the right-hand drive version of its AVATR 11 model.

The STANDARD RANGE AVATR 11 model is priced at 2,099,000 THB (approximately RMB 447,400), while the LONG RANGE model costs 2,299,000 THB (approximately RMB 490,100). Local deliveries of the model are set to begin in November, marking AVATR’s official entry into the Thai market and a significant step in its Southeast Asia and global expansion strategy.

At the event, AVATR President Chen Zhuo stated, "We are confident in establishing Thailand as a key hub for AVATR’s global strategy, using it to expand into Southeast Asia and other right-hand drive markets. Our goal is to become a leader in the premium smart electric vehicle sector globally by 2030. "

Since debuting its two flagship models in Thailand in 2023, AVATR has expanded into several countries in Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Looking ahead, by 2025, AVATR plans to accelerate its global footprint, using Thailand as a launchpad to reach 50 countries, and five continents including Europe, with more than 100 authorized dealerships worldwide.

On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
