Beijing (Gasgoo)- Automotive LiDAR supplier Hesai Technology recently unveiled its latest 360° LiDAR sensor, the OT128, designed for applications such as L4 autonomous driving, industrial robotics, smart ports, and ADAS development.

As the new flagship in Hesai’s 360° LiDAR lineup, the OT128 breaks away from traditional mechanical rotatable LiDAR designs, utilizing a fully chip-based architecture for its transceiver modules. This approach ensures high performance, automotive-grade reliability, and the ability to be mass-produced efficiently for large-scale deployment.

For the first time, Hesai has applied its VCSEL+SiPM transceiver module to a 360° mechanical LiDAR, with over 95% of its core components shared with the existing AT128 LiDAR. With this solution, the OT128 boasts cost efficiency through a 66% reduction in components, faster production times with a 95% decrease in core manufacturing steps, full 360° rotational scanning without the need for multiple units, and a mature, proven design that ensures higher reliability.

The OT128 boasts 360° coverage, a detection range of 200 meters at 10% reflectivity (up to 230 meters), 3.45 million points per second, and a 0.1° angular resolution.

Currently, companies such as DeepRoute.ai, WeRide, and Westwell have selected Hesai’s OT128 LiDAR for partner projects. The OT128 LiDAR has already been put into mass production at Hesai’s factory.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
