On September 13, SAIC Motor's automotive intelligence division, Z-one Tech, announced the successful activation of the first sample of its second-generation central brain, ZXD2 (Z-ONE X Device).

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 13, SAIC Motor's automotive intelligence division, Z-one Tech, announced the successful activation of the first sample of its second-generation central brain, ZXD2 (Z-ONE X Device), developed on Horizon Robotics' Journey® 6 series smart computing product.

The ZXD2 will be efficiently integrated with Horizon Robotics’ SuperDrive full-scenario intelligent driving solutions in the future.

The two companies will continue to advance the development and mass production of vehicle models based on this platform, providing support for SAIC Motor’s wholly-owned and joint-venture brands.

Leveraging a high-bandwidth, low-latency, and highly secure centralized electronic architecture, the ZXD2 achieves cross-domain integration of intelligent driving, smart cockpit, and intelligent computing systems. The ZXD2 adopts an advanced One Box hardware-software integrated design, reducing the computing platform's weight by 40% and volume by 30%, while enhancing computational storage efficiency by 30%. Data communication bandwidth has been increased by 30 times, and over-the-air (OTA) updates for the entire vehicle are reduced to less than 30 minutes, said Z-one Tech.

As a leader in intelligent driving technology, Horizon Robotics provides ZXD2 with cutting-edge in-vehicle intelligent computing and intelligent driving solutions. ZXD2’s modular hardware design is fully compatible with the Journey 6 series products, offering up to 560 TOPS of computing power. It supports Horizon Robotics’ SuperDrive full-scenario intelligent driving solutions, covering highway NOA (Navigation on Autopilot), urban NOA, and smart parking functions.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
