Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese new energy vehicle maker Li Auto recently announced the launch of its 500th supercharging station along expressways, marking a significant milestone in the company's charging infrastructure expansion.

As of 6:00 PM on September 11, Li Auto operates supercharging stations, covering 445 expressway service areas and 58 expressway entrances across 24 provinces in China, ensuring connectivity across key cities in four major economic regions.

Li Auto’s expressway 5C supercharging facility offers a charging speed of 500 km in 12 minutes, with peak power reaching 520 kW per charger. In urban areas, it delivers 500-km range in 25 minutes, with a peak power of 250 kW per charger. The supercharging stations also feature efficient 800V power delivery, lightweight charging guns weighing only 3.3 kg, minimal noise, and ample parking spaces.

Additionally, each parking space at Li Auto's 5C supercharger stations is equipped with an independent camera system that enables automated vehicle detection, ground lock deployment, and safety issue reporting. Real-time operational and charging data are transmitted to the cloud for backend analysis and issue identification.

As of September 10, Li Auto has built a total of 765 supercharging stations across China, comprising 503 along expressways and 262 in urban areas, with a total of 3,588 charging piles. By the end of 2024, Li Auto plans to expand its network to over 2,000 supercharging stations and 10,000 charging piles, aiming to achieve over 90% coverage in core areas of first, second, and third-tier cities, and over 70% coverage on national expressways.

World's First Mass-Produced Sodium-Ion Battery Passenger Vehicle Officially Unveiled
On February 5, Changan Automobile unveiled its global sodium-ion battery strategy, and the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery passenger vehicle was officially introduced. Test data shows that the vehicle equipped with CATL's sodium-ion battery delivers nearly three times the discharge power compared to conventional lithium iron phosphate vehicles with the same battery capacity under -30°C conditions. In extreme cold environments of -40°C, it maintains over 90% capacity retention, and it can still discharge stably even at the extreme low temperature of -50°C.
